Here’s what Chris, the reader, had to say about the Vitruvian tripod. “My favourite out of the five tripods was the Giotto’s Vitruvian VGR 9255. It was really simple to set up and, when we were finished with it, it folded up really neatly and compactly. Plus, it was great to have the built in monopod too.”

As part of the Digital SLR Photography guide for travel kit for photographers, the Giotto’s carbon fibre Vitruvian tripod was tested alongside the Gitzo 1550T Traveler and Benro Travel-AngelC.

The test winner was the Giotto’s Vitruvian scoring a maximum overall 5 stars – here’s what Digital SLR magazine had to say;

“Made from six-layer carbon-fibre, it’s lightweight and stable with aluminium alloy in the main casting adding to its robustness,” and “Twist locks are fast and easy to use and the centre column can be removed to transform it into a monopod.”

The Verdict – ” An innovative and high quality tripod. For most, the aluminium Vitruvian 9255 is a more realistic buy, but this carbon-fibre model represents great value.”

The full review can be found in the August 2010 issue of the magazine.
